What time is it? Rotation time!

At the beginning of every session here at CampTawonga every unit in camp participates in Rotations, a fun and informative tour of camp. At each rotation programmers present what they will be offering during the session. Whether it was learning a new dance with Yonatan our Dance Specialist from Israel, writing and acting out their own prayer at the Moadone with our Jewish educators, or seeing all of the amazing projects they can do at A & C, by the end of Rotations bunks were ready to help their counselors plan their schedule for the coming two weeks and psyched about the activities they were going to do!

Session 2 Campers into the full swing of song session

If song session is any indication Session 2 has some serious Ruach. After every breakfast and dinner all of camp comes together to sing and dance as a community led by our fabulous song leader Gal. Whether they were riding on the MTA train style or dancing to our camp classic Country Roads, campers have jumped into song session feet first!

Rak B’Yisrael

Cooking pita on the fire, milking cows on a kibbutz, and learning Israeli ball games were all a part of our first Israel Day of the summer. Our Taste of Camp campers experienced the Ruach of Yom Yisrael in various stations led by our Shlichim (Israeli staff members). It might not have been a trip to the Tayelet in Tel Aviv, but it was the next best thing to give all of us a taste of Israel.

Graham Cracker + Chocolate + Roasted Marshmallow = Delicious

The time honored camp tradition of S’mores is alive and well at CampTawonga, just ask B-1. Huddled around the campfire in Freedom Forest, the bunk listened to stories and roasted marshmallows as the sun set and the first stars appeared in the sky. All the campers agreed, this was one activity they definitely wanted s’more of!

First its story time!

Now its time to Roast!

A Taste of Floats
Here at camp we have a special block called Floats. During Floats we open up all of the various activities that are available at camp, and bunks are free to “float” to the activities they choose. Whether they were shooting arrows at archery, making bracelets at Arts and Crafts, learning dance moves at the Moadone or canoeing at the Lake, it was definitely a Floats to remember for the campers of Taste of Camp.

Welcome to Funky-town! Population: Eilat

The unit of Eilat got down with their funky selves this morning as part of their Eilat Funk Training. They were led by world famous Funkologist, Cha Cha Funkington, as they explored the different definitions of funk, learned some funky dance moves, partook in a funky parade, and finally competed in a Funk Off Bunk Off Dance Off.
This truly is a Funky Bunch!
